About this design: The flower of the Aquilegia was the most challenging of all the designing I did for this creative canvas series. One of my favourite flowers, that seem to appear from ‘no where’ in late spring after the daffodils and tulips have died off, delicate but robust, they grow and multiply each year much to my delight. Their growth from one week being leaves, to an array of ballerina style flowers dancing in the garden the next week always tells me summer is on its way. My late mother also enjoyed these flowers and her garden has a continuing abundance of delicate varieties including double white and many pastel variations from which I collect the seeds each year to share with her decendants and our friends.
The new yellow aquilegia was the inspiration for the middle border of this delicate Tudor garden.
How can I use this design: This series of small creative canvas pieces can be made into a pocket purse ie a small bag with a long ‘handle’ that is worn as a shoulder bag, framed, made into the centre piece of a ‘green bag’, a small box cushion, the centre piece of a cushion, glued onto the cover of a blank book /folder or glued onto the front of a small concertina office storage system.
