About the Design:  The inspiration for this design was to have a small area of stitching, with easy stitches and varying some of the stitches formats so those who are new to Needlepoint or just want an easy design to stitch can complete a Square easily, learn more about needlepoint and importantly have fun.

I also wanted to create 25 different squares of stitching while working with a limited number of colours.

This is a relaxing project and ideal for someone new to counted needlepoint.

Stitches have been combined, the same stitch worked over a range of canvas threads, eg over 4 canvas threads in one square and over 6 canvas threads in another square.

Elongated cross has been stitched row after row.  In one square the rows are vertical and in another square the rows are horizontal.

The same stitch and threads have been used in two squares, but the colours reversed. Brick stitch has been worked with a solid colour and then in another square with a variegated thread.

Plus more combinations were stitched to fill in the 25 Squares.
